Crockpot Orange Chicken for.the.win.
As with most of my recipes, this one started out with craving.
A peckish, for orangish chicken. Orange-y, spicy craven with a steaming side of perfectly cooked white rice? Swoon.
As much as I wanted to just order take-out, with Thanksgiving coming up, I figured I should probably skip the take-out, and endeavor to recreate something healthier at home.
Thank you, Crockpot Orange Chicken, for curbing my craving without the guilt.
Funnily enough, I typically don't like orange chicken. Trevor, with his very refined palate, gets these cravings for orangish chicken from Panda Express. 😉
But for any reason, I was the one craving orangish chicken the other day, and I knew Trevor would totally be on board.
When I get a craving for something, I go kiiiind of o.b.south.e.southward.south.e.d, and so if I'm going to arrive at domicile, it'due south gotta be like shooting fish in a barrel. Luckily, this craven simply needs 5 hours to melt (vs viii hours in some crockpot craven recipes) and it literally wait me less than 5 minutes to whip up.

At present. Here's the deal. When I get-go had Trevor taste-test, his firsthand reaction was YUM. Buuuuut, he wanted the sauce to be thicker.
Trevor was expecting that actually thick, gluey, sauce that coats breaded craven.
Well. This isn't the recipe for that.
THIS crockpot orange chicken has those same amazing orange chicken flavors you love, but without all the guilt! Plus, it'due south super saucy and when you serve it over rice, the rice soaks up all those crazy flavors. And basically, it's just astonishing.
Later that night, I served this crockpot orange chicken upwardly with some steamed rice and Trevor did a consummate 180.
All I heard for the rest of the night was "Seriously, infant. This is goooood."
Craving curbed. Happy husband.
